Jesus Christ offers me peace and joy.

How was your Easter. How does the thought of Jesus’s Atonement, His life, teachings, sufferings, death, and resurrections impact you? Do you feel the peace that the Savior brings? What can you do to feel the Savior’s peace to others?

Messages of Peace and Joy:

Psalms 16:8–11
I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

30:2–5
O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Isaiah 12
And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.

Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

25:8–9
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

¶ And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

40:28–31
28 ¶ Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

16:33
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Alma 26:11–22
11 But Ammon said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.

12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things…

He Is Risen!

Not as the World Giveth

Our Sorrow Shall Be Turned into Joy

Because of His Atonement, Jesus Christ has the power to help me overcome sin, death, trials, and weaknesses.

Reading Activity to show more blessings that come to us through Jesus Christ and His atonement.

Why is Jesus Christ meaningful to you? Can you articulate that to others?

Do You Know Why I as a Christian Believe in Christ?

The Grave Has No Victory

Atonement of Jesus Christ

Resurrection

Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for my salvation.

What Price was paid for you by Jesus Christ and by our Father?

Jesus bought us all with a great price, because He loves us infinitely.

Isaiah 53:3–5
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Mosiah 3:7
And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.

Doctrine and Covenants 19:16–19
16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;

17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;

18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—

19 Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.

It was our Father’s plan, and He allowed His Son to suffer excruciatingly for you and for me so that we could all become like Him.

John 3:16
16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For Children:

Jesus Christ suffered and died for me.

Can we even imagine what Jesus has done for us in Gethsemane and on the cross? Do we take the time to watch and to wait for Him. He asked Peter, James, and John if they could not watch with Him for one hour. How about us? Can we watch with Him for five minutes each week as we take the sacrament, making promises to always remember Him.

Matthew 26:36–46 Jesus prayed for us in Gethsemane

27:35–50 The Crucifixion

Luke 22:39–46 Intercessory Prayer

John 19:16–30 At the Cross

I am blessed by His sacrifice for me:

Isaiah 53:4–12
Surely He did this all for me. Read it all.

Alma 7:11–13
He has carried all of our suffering, for sins, sicknesses, losses, and betrayals. Even though His Spirit could already comprehend it all, He suffered in the Body, so that He could know perfectly how to sustain, comfort, and redeem us all. He knows how we feel, because He has felt everything we do as if He were us; because He atoned in place of every one of us.

Doctrine and Covenants 19:16–19
We do not ever have to suffer like Jesus did if we repent. He is our Savior in ever particular.

Jesus Christ was resurrected for me.
