I Have Remembered My Covenant I Have Remembered My Covenant Exodus 1:8 Even though there was a new Pharaoh (really a new dynasty) who made the lives of the people difficult, they Lord was still aware of them, knew their sufferings, had compassion on them, remembered the covenants made with them and their fathers, and he sent in motion His plan for their escape and salvation. Keep trusting in Him. He sees you. He knows you. And He will bless you. Exodus 6:6–7 6  Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I  am  the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: 7  And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I  am  the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. Let God Prevail https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/come-follow-me-for-home-and-church-old-testament-2026/10?lang=eng The name Jacob means supplanter. While Esau was barely born first, Jacob was chosen to be first. Genesis 25:30–34 Jacob took Esau’s birthright for a mess of pottage. 26:34–35 Esau married outside the covenant. 27:36 Esau realized what he lost when he realized that Jacob also took his father’s blessing from him. Jacob needed to leave, not only to find and marry a wife in the covenant, but for his own safety too. When Jacob was commanded to go home, he made many preparations before he went to meet Esau. (See your Seminary notes) Genesis 32:26 He wrestled with God until he knew that he received the blessing he desired. His name was changed to Jacob, or to Let God Prevail. He made covenants with God and promised to pay tithes. “Israel learned that to receive God’s most valuable blessings, His covenant blessings, it’s not necessary to supplan...

7 Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:41 But as it was in the days of Noah, so it shall be also at the coming of the Son of Man; In the world during Noah’s day, there was a flood of evil. Today there is also a flood of evil all around us. Genesis 6:12–13 13  And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Moses 8:28 8  The earth was corrupt before God, and it was filled with violence. Moses 8:27 What am I doing personally in my life to find grace in the eyes of the Lord? What did Noah do? Ether 1:33–43 Both Noah and the Brother of Jared found grace in the sight of God, because they sought Him in prayer and they kept His commandments; and they helped their families to draw near to God as well.   There is spiritual safe...

7a The Covenant: Thoughts to Keep in Mind The Covenant: Thoughts to Keep in Mind The New and Everlasting Covenant is also the covenant that God made with Adam and Eve, Enoch and his wife, Noah and his wife, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, and Jacob and Rachel. We also enter into a relationship of trust with the Lord when we are baptized and when we make further covenants and receive further blessings and promises in the temple. Abraham 1:2 Like Abraham, if we seek after greater knowledge and righteousness, the Lord is eager to bless us, even with the blessing of the fathers. Genesis 12:2–3 As recipients of the Abrahamic covenant, we receive great blessings and promises, and also great stewardship and expectations. With the priesthood power and authority God extends to us, we are empowered to be able to bless all of the families of the earth. Abraham 2:9, 11 It is our privilege to share the gospel with the world, to invite all to come unto Christ, so that w...
